Attendance

‘Every Child Matters, Every Day Matters'

All parents have a legal responsibility to ensure their child attends school every day and arrives on time. There is a strong statistical link between attendance and progress. Pupils who have high attendance figures tend to achieve high levels of progress in all key stages.

Regular and punctual attendance is essential if children are to gain the greatest benefit from their education and feel part of the school community. Valuable learning time is lost when children are absent or late.

The school aims to achieve good attendance by operating an attendance policy within which pupils, staff, parents and school attendance service can work in partnership. The school will monitor attendance and ensure quick and early intervention when a problem is identified.

All staff will encourage punctuality and good attendance and work closely with families to encourage god attendance. The school will encourage good attendance among pupils through a system of rewards.
